Job summary
The Senior Financial Analyst, Budget is responsible for delivering high-quality financial analysis, supporting project management initiatives, and providing timely and accurate financial reporting to OMA departments to enable informed decision-making, while leveraging AI-driven tools to improve insights and efficiency, and developing robust, automated financial reports using Jet Reports.


How you will make a difference
  • Supporting the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasting for designated departments through robust cost analysis and in-depth financial review. 
  • Delivering timely and insightful analysis of actual financial results, including commentary on key variances compared to budget, forecast and prior year results.
  • Preparing financial reports and reporting packages/presentations for OMA and its subsidiaries, including the design and development of dynamic financial reports using Jet Reports.
  • Performing timely analysis and reconciliation of assigned accounts and preparing supplementary schedules and supporting analysis for the financial statements.
  • Supporting internal and external audits by preparing working papers and supporting documentation for the year-end audit requirements.
  • Participating in projects and initiatives focused on improving accounting processes and procedures, including leveraging AI-driven solutions and advanced reporting tools to enhance financial analysis, reporting efficiency and data accuracy.

Requirements that are important to us
  • University Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent
  • Canadian CPA designation
  • Six to nine years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience, including demonstrated ability to perform and present complex financial analysis.
  • Experience working with financial and reporting systems such as Business Central, Jet Reports, Prophix, and Concur.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience using financial reporting and budgeting tools to support analysis and decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
